Conflict, Stabilization and Transition

Our experience being mission-ready to adapt to changing environments is a fundamental component of how we operate. We have established multiple platforms with a range of capabilities including staff, resources, logistics and systems to provide immediate and tailored support to promote peace building in communities, particularly for women, youth and vulnerable populations.

We work with government actors at the national and local level as well as community stakeholders to consolidate peacebuilding gains and address a range of issues including resilience, citizen security, social cohesion and crime and violence prevention. We develop an understanding of the drivers to community security perceptions to deliver the right support for fragile and conflict areas and to promote peace, prosperity and stability to help lay the foundation for long-term development gains.

Our staff understand how to work in challenging operating contexts and excel in dynamic environments that require fast and flexible responses. We have experience working in more than 25 conflict-affected countries—from Iraq to Somalia to the Democratic Republic of the Congo —where we work to rebuild trust and empower communities in transition. Our capabilities include:

  • Justice, rights and security
  • Preventing/countering violent extremism
  • Crime and violence prevention
  • Stabilization
  • Monitoring, evaluation and learning
  • Digital connectivity and use of technology/social media
  • Training and capacity building
