United States Agency of International Development - Active Projects
For the past 21 years, Macfadden has been supporting the U.S. Agency for International Development's (USAID) mission to end extreme poverty and promote the development of resilient, democratic societies that are able to realize their potential. As the principal humanitarian assistance contractor to USAID's Bureau for Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance (DCHA), Macfadden has supported USAID in its response to more than 1,000 global disasters and complex emergencies. Macfadden coordinates international disaster response management and humanitarian assistance by providing project management and operation support, crisis communications, rapid recruitment, training and deployment services, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) support.
Multiple Award IDIQ Support Services for USAID DCHA
Since 1993, Macfadden has supported the USAID DCHA, helping to respond quickly and effectively to more than 1,000 disasters worldwide. We manage ten task orders worth approximately $135 million under this IQC, requiring disciplined, comprehensive project management processes, risk management, cost control, and performance measurement. Over the past six years we have supported multiple service categories under 23 task orders, successfully managing a growing and increasingly complex scope of work and a contract expansion from $85 million to $135 million. Macfadden delivers a range of professional services in support of the offices of the DCHA Bureau, including: Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Cartographic Support; Program Management; Surge (rapid) Response to Disaster; Logistics Support Services; Grants Management and Administration; Training Program Development and Administration; Information Gathering and Dissemination; and Personal Service Contract (PSC) Recruitment and Management.
Institutional Support Services for USAID ASHA
Macfadden manages the daily operations of USAID/DCHA/ASHA offices and assists in administering approximately $20 million in grants awarded to 35-45 recipients annually. Additional services include administrative support, program management assistance, information support services, financial and information support, information technology advising, monitoring and evaluation services, and grantee conference and training workshops.
Application Support for USAID's GLAAS System and Operation of the GLASS Solution Center (subcontract to IBM)
Macfadden currently supports USAID's agency-wide Global Acquisition and Assistance System (GLAAS), a computerized database used by USAID staff in Washington, D.C. and overseas that automates the procurement process from planning to award closeout. Macfadden provides Tier 2 and Tier 3 help desk support, in addition to system and application administration. The GLAAS Solution Center (SC) is responsible for analyzing issues and determining proper solution; if staff cannot resolve an issue at the Tier 2 level, it is escalated to the Tier 3 Help Desk to remedy.
