Macfadden to Support USAID IT FORWARD Contract Through Partnerships with IBM and DMI
Saturday, 01 September 2012
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has awarded IT FORWARD contracts to IBM and Digital Management, Inc. (DMI). Awarded subcontracts by both companies, Macfadden will support IBM in the large business category and DMI in the small business category. These 5-year agency-wide BPA contracts with a ceiling value of $900 million are part of an ambitious initiative to change the way USAID conducts business through partnership creation, an emphasis on innovation and a focus on results. IT FORWARD’s primary objectives are to leverage IT systems and innovation to evolve the current IT environment to a more cost-effective, secure, mobile computing environment; increase data access; and improve communications. As USAID relies heavily on the Agency’s IT systems and infra-structure to serve national interests and equitably distribute humanitarian assistance, this contract plays a vital role in enabling USAID HQ staff and field personnel to complete the USAID mission.
