Russell Hall, President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board

Russell Hall joined the Macfadden team in August 2002 as a senior management executive and has served as Chief Executive Officer since August 2004, providing a keen corporate vision, focused strategy and outstanding leadership. In March 2007, he was named President, CEO and Chairman of the Board commensurate with the 100 percent buyout and change of ownership from the company's founder, Jim Macfadden, to the Employee Stock Ownership Trust. Mr. Hall brings to Macfadden more than 18 years of management experience supporting a variety of information technology and program support projects for both the federal government and private industry. He leverages his strengths in providing organizational leadership, governmental relations, and strategic planning and experience to drive Macfadden's growth, revenue, operational performance, profitability and value.

Mr. Hall assumes full P&L responsibility while providing leadership, strategic, and tactical direction to the management team as the company transitions from a 20-year-old entrepreneurship to a highly-performing, employee-owned professional services firm while simultaneously creating shareholder value in a growth-oriented organization. Macfadden's two wholly-owned subsidiaries, Systems Integration Group, Inc. (SIG) of Lanham, MD, and Total Security Services International, Inc. (TSSI), have direct P&L reporting to Mr. Hall. He also serves as sole fiduciary/Trustee for Macfadden's Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) Trust. Mr. Hall holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Virginia Tech and is a member of the Washington, D.C. Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and Association for Corporate Growth (ACG). He is also active in the Industry Advisory Council (IAC) and the Inner Circle Mid-Atlantic, a peer group for business owners.

David Binns, Chief Operating Officer

David Binns serves as Chief Operating Officer at Macfadden. An experienced organizational leader with more than 20 years providing corporations with strategic direction, Mr. Binns is a member of Macfadden's Board of Directors and was a key advisor during the company's move to employee ownership in 2007.

Prior to joining Macfadden, Mr. Binns served as Associate Director of the Beyster Institute, where he provided strategic advice to numerous U.S. companies on the use of equity compensation plans and managed many of the Institute's international economic development programs. Earlier in his career, he served as Executive Director of The ESOP Association, the national trade association representing the interests of companies with Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs) and professionals providing advisory services to ESOP companies. In this capacity, he directed the Association's overall programs including government and public relations, publications, conferences and membership services.

Mr. Binns' career includes many years providing expert guidance to numerous domestic and international companies regarding the legal, financial and human resource implications of the structure of employee ownership plans. He has also been an active promoter of using employee ownership to facilitate privatization, defense conversion and economic development in several foreign countries. He is a published author and frequent speaker on issues related to employee ownership and enterprise development.

John C. Sparhawk, Executive Vice President, Quality and Standards

After a long-standing relationship with the company since its founding, John C. Sparhawk officially joined the Macfadden team in 1998. As the Executive Vice President, Mr. Sparhawk is responsible for Quality and Standards, Corporate Positioning, and Policy Development. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team and reporting directly to the President & CEO, Mr. Sparhawk works with the staff and other corporate officers in the formulation and development of Certifications, Policies, and Procedures as well as special projects. Mr. Sparhawk holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Oklahoma City University, and a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics from the University of Maryland.




Ronald W. Torrence, Chief Financial Officer-Acting

Ronald W. Torrence has served more than 40 years in the financial arena. His experience includes designing a new system of analyzing and evaluating corporate loans for a large commercial bank; conceiving, developing and implementing the first formal financial planning system for a major railroad company and helping businesses obtain more than $150 million of venture capital and bank financing. For more than 35 years, Mr. Torrence has mentored hundreds of small to mid-sized businesses in a wide range of industries as a general management, financial and marketing advisor. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, Mr. Torrence currently supports Macfadden in development of marketing strategies, financial plans and management controls, and has worked with the Executive Leadership Team to design new organizational structures to facilitate growth. Mr. Torrence served as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army after graduating with distinction from Pennsylvania State University. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

Don L. Rondeau, Senior Vice President, Critical Infrastructure

As Senior Vice President, Critical Infrastructure, Don L. Rondeau oversees the development of new business opportunities in the homeland security arena, focusing on transportation safety, asset protection, contingency planning and conflict mitigation. Mr. Rondeau's duties as SVP also include serving as President and CEO of Total Security Services International, Inc. (TSSI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Macfadden. Mr. Rondeau's expertise spans a broad and distinguished career in the area of critical infrastructure protection.

Prior to joining Macfadden, Mr. Rondeau served as Vice President of Homeland Security at Alion Science and Technology. Previously, he served as the Director of a federal anti-terrorism Information Sharing Analysis Center. Earlier in his career, Rondeau served as the Director of Claims and Security for the American Trucking Association, representing the security interest of the trucking industry.

Bringing a wide breadth of international experience to Macfadden, Mr. Rondeau previously served as a contract investigator for the U.S. Department of the Interior and as Chief Security Consultant for the embassies of the States of Kuwait and Qatar. He has cultivated numerous relations in the Middle East while teaming with security groups on various projects.

Mr. Rondeau continues to play an active advisory role, currently serving as the Transportation Security Advisor to the International Association of Counterterrorism for Security Professionals (IACSP), where he was named the Homeland Security Executive of the Year in 2004-05. Additionally, Mr. Rondeau serves as the National Chief Security Advisor for the Heart of America Quilt Project.

Mr. Rondeau has served as a member of a number several of advisory boards including the United States Association of Private Investigators, the Counterterrorism Security Research & Education Foundation and the American College of Certified Fraud Examiners International, an international team assembled to establish homeland security standards. Through this association's security certification program, Mr. Rondeau was awarded the Certified Homeland Security expert designation (CHS V).

Stephen Martin, Senior Vice President, Corporate Development

Stephen Martin serves as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, at Macfadden. With nearly 20 years of professional experience in health and human services contracting to Federal agencies, Mr. Martin manages the development of new business initiatives, partnerships and corporate development activities at Macfadden.

Prior to joining Macfadden, Mr. Martin served as Vice President of Communications at Danya International Inc. Previously holding numerous senior management positions, he has extensive experience directing highly visible national contracts providing technical assistance, training, program development, program compliance and policy assessments.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Martin managed a national technical assistance (TA) contract for SAMHSA's Center for Substance Abuse Prevention. His role included all aspects of TA implementation, from the conceptual design and philosophy to establishing policies and procedures, identifying component areas of expertise, coordinating the delivery, and actually delivering TA workshops at the grantee level.

Employee Wellness is a key priority for Mr. Martin. Currently serving as the Co-chairman of Maryland's Worksite Wellness Committee, he is charged with leading Maryland's Nutrition and Physical Activity (NPA) Implementation Plan.

Mr. Martin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Theodore Ferguson, Sr., President - Systems Integration Group Subsidiary

A recent addition to the Macfadden team, Theodore Ferguson was promoted to President of Macfadden's wholly-owned subsidiary, Systems Integration Group, Inc. (SIG) after the acquisition of SIG in early 2008. With more than 40 years working in the Information Technology (IT) environment, with a primary focus serving federal government clients, Mr. Ferguson will assist Macfadden in the areas of program management and business development.

As co-founder of SIG, Mr. Ferguson previously served as the Executive Vice President of SIG where he was responsible for managing corporate and client relationships and overall product quality control. Mr. Ferguson also served as the corporate Facility Security Officer (FSO) at SIG.

Mr. Ferguson began his career as a government employee, programming and designing software applications and operating systems. Later in his career, he served as Systems Manager of the corporate Computer Data Center at Automated Sciences Group, Inc. (ASG) where he transitioned the Data Center from a corporate overhead center to a revenue generating center.

For the next several years Mr. Ferguson served as a Project and Program Manager of various Federal contracts, serving agencies including the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of the Navy and Army, the National Park Service, the Social Security Administration and the U.S. Agency for International Development.

Mr. Ferguson holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland.

Michael Sears, Chief Operating Officer - Systems Integration Group Subsidiary

Michael Sears joined the Macfadden team as part of Macfadden's April 2008 acquisition of Systems Integration Group, Inc. (SIG). Mr. Sears functioned as the Chief Operating Officer of SIG from 1993 until the acquisition and continues in that capacity for the subsidiary. He helped fashion a number of new markets for SIG including the highly specialized archival and preservation digital imaging business. Prior to joining SIG, Mr. Sears served in several executive positions in the Information Technology business including President of ADP Network Services and CEO of The Source. With 40 years business experience spanning marketing, operations and strategic planning, Mr. Sears' expertise is currently aimed at ensuring the smooth transition of SIG into the Macfadden fold.

Mr. Sears holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management from Purdue University and has been active in several government/industry groups including AFFIRM and the Industry Advisory Council (IAC).

Jim Shafovaloff, Vice President, Homeland Security Programs

Jim Shafovaloff currently serves a dual role at Macfadden as Vice President of Homeland Security at Macfadden and as Vice President of Homeland Security at Macfadden subsidiary, Systems Integration Group, Inc.

A graduate of the U. S. Coast Guard Academy, Mr. Shafovaloff served as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Coast Guard until 1997, where he held a variety of leadership and operational staff assignments. Upon entering the private sector, he progressed from an initial "Team Lead" assignment at Coast Guard Headquarters to Project Manager, and later moved to his current role as Vice President of Homeland Security at Macfadden. In this role, Mr. Shafovaloff manages Macfadden's Homeland Security contracts and develops new business initiatives within this key business sector.

A noted community leader, Mr. Shafovaloff has leveraged his professional experience in finance for the benefit of two area Credit Unions where he has served as Chairman of the Board.

Mr. Shafovaloff holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from Strayer College.

Dan Pence, Vice President, Information Technology

Dan Pence serves as Macfadden's Vice President of Information Technology. With more than 34 years of progressive management experience in the field of Information Technology, Mr. Pence offers a proven ability to manage complex IT projects and meet the needs of Federal Government clients. His areas of expertise include technical support management, product development, marketing, risk assessment and business and program operations management.

Throughout his career, Mr. Pence has successfully managed numerous document/records management projects for Federal clients including the U.S. Treasury Department, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Office of Environmental Information, the EPA Office of Pesticide Programs and the Library of Congress. In addition, Mr. Pence managed IT support contracts with the National Park Service.

An expert in the field of document imaging and records management, Mr. Pence is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and events. He is a member of numerous professional organizations including the Association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA), the Association of Imaging and Information Management (AIIM) and the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Mr. Pence holds a Master of Science in Systems Engineering and an Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Michigan where he also received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Electrical Engineering.

Our intrinsic knowledge and understanding of foreign policy and knowledgeable regional policy experts support grants administration, security and law enforcement, economic development, program management and logistical support to ensure medical equipment, emergency cargo and supplies reach designated countries.

Through our work with the DOS, Macfadden has helped EUR/ACE become a model of efficiency in the U.S. government, with a ten to one ratio of delivered commodity value to operational costs. While helping relieve suffering in isolated populations throughout Eurasia, more than $162 million in assistance has been delivered through this program.
