Macfadden’s travel team provides guidance and support to all aspects of travel for USAID’s Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA), including rapid deployment of Disaster Assistance Response Teams (DARTs) and related deployments of humanitarian assistance specialists. Travel assistance also includes targeted humanitarian outreach through events, speaking engagements, social media outreach, public education and training. Macfadden provides document production, scheduling coordination, travel and transportation support, and records of all events and travel. We support travel arrangements for both domestic and international travel for annual conferences and regional workshops including in Kenya, Mexico, Greece, Armenia, UAE, Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia. We were instrumental in the successful implementation of hundreds of training workshops and an annual partners’ conference hosted by USAID’s American Schools and Hospitals Abroad (ASHA).
Macfadden manages a $300 million institutional support contract at USAID’s Bureau for Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance (DCHA), with over 250 employees in Washington, D.C. and overseas, supporting over 24 Task Orders —a contract we have held since 1993. The Macfadden grants management team provides critical grant support for multiple offices within USAID’s Bureau for Democracy Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance (DCHA). Macfadden develops grant guidelines and templates, and supports post-award audit preparation. We provide full acquisition management life cycle, draft exceptional RFAs and RFQs, manage the solicitation process and review and evaluate submissions, administer agreements, provide recommendations to COR/CO on modifications, close out grant accounts, and ensure that the entire lifecycle is fully compliant FAR and is agency specific.

Macfadden currently serves the Coast Guard Security Center by providing maintenance, upgrades, help desk support, user training, and data entry for all of the IT systems and databases. We offer mission-critical IT support for personnel security systems and have been instrumental in ongoing efforts to increase the use of digital technologies to improve data transparency, interoperability, and reliability.
Macfadden also supports USAID’s agency-wide Global Acquisition and Assistance System (GLAAS),providing Tier 2 and Tier 3 help desk support and administration. Tasks include troubleshooting, quality assurance, system performance monitoring, release planning and testing support, business applications management, disaster recovery support, information security, and user access management. We leverage considerable practical experience with GLAAS, based on our decades of grants management work at USAID.
Macfadden’s financial management services help government clients achieve individual financial objectives and secure a profitable future. In addition to providing financial advisory and budget services, our staff support day-to-day activities such as allocation of funds (commit, obligate, execute), accounting and financial reporting, validation and reconciliation, adjustment to meet changing requirements, and audit preparation and support. We process financial business filing, generate reports and print. Macfadden has facilitated the development and execution of budgets of up to $500 million and has managed financial data on Oracle and other government financial systems.
At the USCG ALD Financial Management Branch, Macfadden provided routine financial analysis, including transactional analysis and resolution of errors, identification and reconciliation of unresolved transactions and undelivered orders, and analysis of distribution of funds, historical spending reports, and Funds Transfer Authorization.
Macfadden has also developed spreadsheet templates to facilitate an organized collection of sample data from across C4IT. Macfadden interfaces routinely with the ICB Branch Chief and other stakeholders.
Macfadden has extensive experience conducting trainings, events and seminars. We conduct over 100 training and workshops per year for our current OFDA client training over 1,000 trainees (USG and civilian)/year. We plan training workshops and symposiums for host country governments to promote best practices in disaster responsiveness.
In FY 2016, Macfadden provided targeted humanitarian outreach through events, speaking engagements, social media outreach, public education and training, and through the client website, to over 600,000 people. Macfadden supports the facilitation of and updates to 104 classroom training courses, as well as the maintenance of and updates to 39 online courses. Macfadden assists in the training of almost two thousand people across multiple agencies—OFDA, other USAID staff, and miscellaneous USG and non-USG staff.
